The pandemic has greatly affected the tourism industry especially the hotels. In Davao City, hotels have temporarily closed during the lockdown. But since the ease of the city’s quarantine regulation, some hotels including DusitD2 Davao have reopened.
DusitD2 Davao is the latest addition to Davao City’s international chain of hotels. It is located at Lanang, Davao City in front of Pampanga Village and beside Lots for Less Lanang. This upscale hotel offers modern and spacious rooms each with a private balcony. It has two restaurants, Benjarong Restaurant and Madayaw Café. This hotel also has a spa.
We went to stay for an overnight on September 19, 2020. We booked a deluxe room with a king-size bed overlooking the city. There were only a few checked-in guests when we arrived. Checking-in was easy and we were ushered right into our room.
Compared to other upscale hotels in the city, the lobby was not so huge but it was modern in style. Upon entering the lobby, you can see the coffee shop. Outside the floor-to-ceiling glass panels of the coffee shop, you can see the swimming pool which is the main attraction of the hotel. The swimming pool was modern, large, and clean with two attractive koi ponds.
Our room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. What I like about our room is the comfy sofa which is big enough to be a bed. Our bed itself is very large and comfortable. The room has complete amenities like a minibar, coffee, and tea, electric kettle, room slippers, bathrobes, and toiletries.
After unpacking our things in our room, we immediately went to the poolside for our photoshoot. What I like about this hotel is its large swimming pool which has a modern design great for photoshoots and Instagram posts. We always do photoshoots when we go to different places.
The complimentary breakfast at the Madayaw Café was good and tasty. Their staff knows how to take care of the guests. After breakfast, we went swimming in the pool.
Our stay was short and memorable but it was worth it. We would stay again at this hotel. Money can be earned again but good memories last forever. For me, happy memories are more important than money.
